Gridless is a private messenger that works over Bluetooth with no internet, no servers, and no accounts.
Gridless는 인터넷도, 서버도, 계정도 없이 블루투스만으로 동작하는 비공개 메신저예요.
Getting started
시작하기
- Install Gridless on two iPhones.
- Open it on both, and set a passphrase on each (this encrypts everything on that phone).
- On one phone tap Pair a device, then Show a code. On the other tap Pair a device, then Scan a code, and scan it.
- You are connected. Everything you send goes directly between the two phones, encrypted.
- 두 대의 iPhone에 Gridless를 설치하세요.
- 양쪽에서 앱을 열고 각자 패스프레이즈를 정하세요. 이 패스프레이즈가 그 폰의 모든 것을 암호화해요.
- 한 폰에서 '기기 연결'을 누르고 '코드 보기'를 여세요. 다른 폰에서 '기기 연결', '코드 스캔' 순으로 눌러 그 코드를 스캔하면 돼요.
- 연결 끝. 이제 보내는 모든 것이 암호화되어 두 폰 사이를 직접 오가요.
Do I need internet or a signal?
인터넷이나 신호가 필요한가요?
No. Your messages never use the internet. The two phones talk directly over Bluetooth. You do need to be within Bluetooth range of each other (roughly a room or two; walls and bodies shorten it).
아니요. 메시지는 인터넷을 전혀 쓰지 않아요. 두 폰이 블루투스로 직접 대화해요. 다만 서로 블루투스 범위 안에 있어야 해요(대략 방 한두 개 거리이고, 벽과 사람이 있으면 짧아져요).
Why did my chat go offline?
채팅이 왜 오프라인이 됐나요?
You moved out of Bluetooth range, or the other person closed the app. Anything you type while offline is queued and sends when you reconnect. Step back into range and, if both apps are open, it reconnects on its own.
블루투스 범위를 벗어났거나, 상대가 앱을 닫은 거예요. 오프라인일 때 입력한 내용은 대기열에 쌓였다가 다시 연결되면 전송돼요. 범위 안으로 돌아오고 양쪽 앱이 열려 있으면 알아서 다시 연결돼요.
Does it work when my phone is in my pocket?
폰을 주머니에 넣어도 되나요?
Yes, while you are in range: lock the screen or switch apps and messages still arrive as notifications. If you fully close the app (swipe it up and away), the connection ends until you reopen it.
네, 범위 안이라면요. 화면을 잠그거나 다른 앱으로 바꿔도 메시지는 알림으로 도착해요. 앱을 위로 밀어 완전히 종료하면 다시 열 때까지 연결이 끊겨요.
Is it really private?
정말 비공개인가요?
Messages are end-to-end encrypted and never touch a server. Someone nearby can tell a Bluetooth device is present, but not who you are or what you say. A stolen, unlocked phone can still expose messages, so keep your phone locked.
메시지는 종단간 암호화되고 서버를 거치지 않아요. 근처의 누군가는 블루투스 기기가 있다는 것까지만 알 수 있고, 누가 무슨 말을 하는지는 알 수 없어요. 다만 잠금이 풀린 폰을 도난당하면 메시지가 노출될 수 있으니, 폰은 잠가 두세요.
How do I verify who I am talking to?
상대가 맞는지 어떻게 확인하나요?
Open the safety number and compare it in person or on a call. If the numbers match, no one is in the middle.
안전 번호를 열어 직접 만나서, 또는 통화로 비교하세요. 번호가 일치하면 중간에 아무도 없는 거예요.
I forgot my passphrase.
패스프레이즈를 잊어버렸어요.
There is no recovery by design, not even by us. Use "Erase and start over" to set up fresh (this deletes the rooms and history on that phone).
설계상 복구 방법이 없어요. 우리도 못 해요. '지우고 새로 시작'으로 처음부터 설정하세요(그 폰의 방과 기록이 삭제돼요).

Free to try with anyone. Gridless Pro unlocks unlimited sending: 7 days free, then a yearly subscription, or a one-time Lifetime purchase. One person's Pro covers the shared room for both. Manage or cancel anytime in iOS Settings > your name > Subscriptions.
누구와든 무료로 시작할 수 있어요. Gridless Pro는 무제한 전송을 열어줘요: 7일 무료, 이후 연간 구독, 또는 한 번 결제하는 Lifetime. 한 사람의 Pro면 공유하는 방을 두 사람 모두 쓸 수 있어요. iOS 설정 > 내 이름 > 구독에서 언제든 관리하거나 해지할 수 있어요.
Deleting data
데이터 삭제
Settings > Delete all data erases every room and message on that phone, instantly and permanently. The other phone keeps its own copy of your conversations. One anonymous trial timestamp (a date only) stays in the device Keychain; details in the privacy policy.
설정 > 모든 데이터 삭제는 그 폰의 모든 방과 메시지를 즉시, 영구히 지워요. 상대 폰에는 상대 쪽 사본이 남아요. 익명의 체험 시작일(날짜 하나)만 기기 키체인에 남는데, 자세한 내용은 개인정보 처리방침에 있어요.
